The new theater opened in August. Its first show is Master Class, a Tony Award-winning play by Terrence McNally. The season will feature eleven new productions and a pre-season concert series. The Center for the Arts’ new building has a number of special events planned throughout the year, and patrons are encouraged to buy tickets early. The theater will host a variety of events for the community, including children’s camps and family festivals.

 

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Middle Tennessee State University is back in action. The department kicked off the fall semester with “The Busie Body” at the Tucker Theatre. MPAC was founded in 1966 to promote dance among historically black colleges and universities. The organization has since welcomed MTSU to the fold. Dancers at MPAC come from different backgrounds and come together for a common love of dance. The department’s programs are not just focused on collegiate dancers, however.
